A lost Season!

Wow, there is just some days left until Christmas and it feels like it was yesterday I was skiing the steep sloops of Iran & India’s backcountry. I can really feel the snow under my Monster Pow skis. We had a great season with the ski and I loved it. And after the trip I needed to struggle through more than half a year without skiing. Then when the cold finally came and my body started to go into this skiing mode, daydreaming about the coming season and all the adventures, everything went away over a day.

I served in the Swedish Military as a Marine since the third august. Some of the time is definitely the worst in my life when it at the same time was the best thing I ever did. Then one night in the end of our exercise, which was like a kind of education test, my body crashed. We hadn’t been sleeping for the past two days and eating just one or two meals during the time. It was only a couple of hours until the finish line. Exhausted into the bones I was running with a stretcher when I suddenly felt a huge pain in my lower leg. I was only 150 meters from the end of this task so I kept running. Just four steps later my leg shattered. The first thing that came up in my head after diving down with my weapon first in the ground was, God No Beret! Then when I saw my leg pointing in the wrong direction came the thoughts, God NO ski season!

Well I was flew in helicopter to the hospital where they let me home after one week and three operations. Two weeks later I removed the stitches, I counted to 67! So now my season is over and I some kind of regret joining the military. I hope Duret have a place for me and my adventures saved until next year. I promise they won’t regret it. Because next year will be the year of the years!

Donc, justqu'ànnée prochaine. Ski dur et rapide! Parce que si il n'y a aucun risque que l'aventure est perdu!
