Hej!
My name is Maximilian Mohlkert. I am twenty years old and from Sweden. I have been skiing all my life, as long as I can remember. But the truth is that I from the beginning hated the sport. My dad has been skiing all his life, competing in slalom and made some great seasons in Austria, back in the good old days. So when I was born my father practically bought skiis to me before he came to the hospital. That's what I have been told. Some of the first pictures of me is with a pair of skiis.
So I don't really know what happened. I refused to ski on our vacations up in the northern Sweden. My mum thinks that I felt to much pressure to succeed, which is why I refused. This was a struggle between me and my father during a couple of years until he got my sister to ski. I couldn't be worse than my sister! So up I went and today it has become my way of living.
This way of living, this ski way is hard to explain for people around me. It is the one thing in my life, in my surrounding, that brings me total peace. It is me, my skiis and the moment. There is nothing else that I need to think about besides this one moment. I could nearly say that it is a religious in a kind a way. For me it works and that's enough.
During many years I have been skiing in both known and unknown ski resorts in Europe. In my search for something more I have turned to look further away. Looking for the unknown and exotic I started ski more and more freeskiing. After a trip to Russia last year, a trip that gave me a great chance to ski in real light snow, I decided to make it my primary objective. So this year I am looking for places where not everyone have been skiing and where not everyone will ski. That's why I together with Mats Kahlström another Duret rider, are planning a great trip to Iran and India this winter, were we are going to ski the endless powdersides and taking amazing photos.
For me riding on a pair of Duret skiis is incredible! I think it is astonishing of Duret to have the courage to believe in me, this season when everything happens. My great trip to Far East and the start on the fight to win the competitions. It feels safe to have Duret Skis on my side, and I think it's fun for them to fight as underdog against other companies as well.
