My name is Mats Kahlstrom. For several years, my one passion has brought me to places I would never go to, and people I would never meet. It has driven me, made me move from my home in Stockholm, and basically given me a new life.

It all started when I was a youngster and merely ten year. My mom and her new husband took me up to the mountains in Sweden and placed a pair of skis under my feet. On shaking legs I managed to ski down the children's slope and from that moment, I loved it.

From going on weekly trips every year with my family, I quickly developed and started to seek lines outside the slopes. Going in to the park and the woods put another aspect to skiing.

When finishing high school I moved up to Lulea in the northern part of Sweden to get closer to the alpine life and the mountains. Meeting a lot of new people with a similar look upon life made me really feel like home, and together we went out skiing almost every weekend when not in school. From deep snow skiing in Russia to summer skiing in Norway, this previous season really pushed my limits.

When going on the coming season with planned trips to Norway, India and Iran, having a pair of Duret Monstre Pow under my feet will clearly boost my confidence. Now I can really rely on nailing my lines and getting the shots I need. Thank you!
